I’m happy to announce that the first-ever staged-reading of scenes from my new play in-progress, Gift Horse <\/em>will take place\u00a0 at Nakai Theatre’s 9th annual Pivot Festival, a celebration of new and boundary-pushing performance arts. The reading will take place 7:00pm, Monday January 25th at the Whitehorse Public Library, and will feature an opportunity to participate in the play’s development in the form of a talk-back after the reading.<\/p>\n

When a disgraced professor and his fiance return to the young man\u2019s childhood home in rural southwestern Ontario, they find that not all is as it should be. While the family\u2019s youngest son pores over books on obscure physics in pursuit of the \u201cperfect, inter-planar<\/em> body-check\u201d, the arrival of a charismatic Hobo-Preacher brings\u00a0 on a flood of hillbilly tenants that defies physics itself.<\/p>\n

Theatre of the Absurd<\/em>, Fringe Science<\/em>, HP Lovecraft<\/em>, Quantum Physics<\/em>, Occultism<\/em>, and the Good Old Hockey Game<\/em> collide in this atmospheric, metaphysical horror farm-play.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
