Laid-over twice-over, of-course
\n(Calgary & Vancouver) old friends comparatively
\nin-between
\nthe old crowded pot and our new turf,
\nwild-west and northern frontier all at once.<\/p>\n
But the grass is exceedingly green,
\nthe sky lends the distant mountains Doppler’s blue,
\nand in a quiet valley, nestled somewhere in-between
\nrests Us. Stressed-Serene
\nand missing high-speed comforts,
\nbut never so very alive,
\nplanted and growing in foreign soil.<\/p>\n
In some ways it’s already more a home
\nthan I’ve had for six years
\nadrift and saturated in a language not my own
\nand with my roots’ roots themselves uprooted.
\nAnd thus, the age-old familial cutting, pruning and planting
\nis underway,
\nas winds of will whisk seedlings borne on buoyant youth
\nacross an expanse of land so great to have once been intraversable in a lifetime,
\nbut which now can be had for five-hundred dollars
